AT AMS we specialise in the repair, servicing, recharging (re-gassing) and parts of car air conditioning systems to both the public and motor trade, offering a both a mobile service to your home or place of work as well as at our premises in Portsmouth. Unlike other car air con companies who just recharge an A/C system, we fix any problems ourselves, repairing and providing any necessary parts so you don't need to go elsewhere; as well as offering recharges and servicing. Answer yes to any of these questions and your car is in need of an car air conditioning service, or at the very least, a top-up of refrigerant (recharge, or re-gas). Your car air con system depletes over time, losing up to 15% of it's refrigerant every year leaving it underperforming and depending on how much refrigerant it's lost, may not provide any cold air at all. A poorly performing car air conditioning system can cause a build up of fungus, bacteria and other microbes growing inside the evaporator core, causing a smell, sometimes an allergic reaction and can lead to legionnaires disease.
This is why you should have your car air con system serviced every 18 months. It will say that in your car manufacturers service guide, yet when your car is serviced, your A/C system is never serviced. It's an extra, chargeable, serviceable item, but vital to have done. A typical manufacturer car air conditioning service will cost you at least £100.

We come to you at your home or place of work for your full air conditioning service. That's why we can keep our costs low but still bring you a fully guaranteed expert service. Our full service includes:
- Initial system test
- Check system components such as hoses, belts, condenser, compressor, fans, electrics etc
- Check internal system controls, flaps, heating etc
- Recover any existing refrigerant from the system
- Vacuum A/C system
- Antibacterial and odour removing*
- Re-charge A/C system with refrigerant to vehicle specific levels
- Leak test components
- Full post re-gas system test
- Update service records.
A/C recharge at £60
We come to you at your home or place of work for your A/C recharge. Our recharge only service includes:
- Initial system test
- Check system components such as hoses, belts, condenser, compressor, fans, electrics etc
- Check internal system controls, flaps, heating etc
- Check levels of existing refrigerant
- Recharge (top-up) A/C system with refrigerant to required level
- Check for leaks
- Update service records.

We offer all of the above services to the motor trade at discounted rates, from garages to traders and body shops.
*Antibacterial and odour removal is not normally necessary as vacuuming the system should remove any contaminants. However, if you require, we can carry out an odour removal treatment for an additional small charge.
